There are very good reasons for this. To begin with, weight fluctuates all the time, at different times of the day and month, depending on if you have just eaten, if you are dehydrated etc. This can be misleading and cause confusion. If you must weigh yourself, do it once a month, always at the same time of day and using the same scales for consistency. When you do weigh yourself, if you have lost weight, also think about what you have gained. If you haven't lost weight, or have put a small amount on, use this as motivation to keep going.
But don't get too hung up on the scales. Put it in perspective and don't think about weight as the only issue - also consider how you feel, how you look, do you have more energy, have other things changed for the better in your life since you started making healthy changes.
Before starting any weight loss or exercise plan you must consult a medical professional.
