Long term stress

If you suffer from long term stress or chronic stress, when you are under severe stress all the time, it will have damaging effects on your health. Stress can be a physical thing. In general, we are able to shake it off, perhaps through time off work or recharging our batteries on holiday. But if the stress is persistent and unrelenting, it becomes very bad for us.

If you suffer from long term stress, amongst other things, your immune system will be seriously low and so you are almost guaranteed to catch that bug going around at work. Your blood pressure may also be raised and you probably will have worrying thoughts which can lead to headaches and migraines. This poor health could in turn create more pressure and increase your stress levels - it's a vicious circle.
