Many people benefit from using affirmations to help develop a new habit. In the past you've unconsciously been practicing such affirmations as "I'm a smoker", "I'm an addictive personality", "smoking relaxes me", "I always have a cigarette in the morning" and so on.
How about a new affirmation? Examples could be; "everyday I'm getting healthier, happier and richer"; "I'm a healthy non-smoker and I feel great, life is wonderful"; "everyday smoking is becoming a more distant memory and I'm looking forward to the future".
Choose one of these affirmations or prepare one of your own which makes you feel motivated and full of energy, and practice them every time you start to think about smoking or even notice someone else doing it. It will soon become second nature.
