Many people claim that smoking has benefits - that it helps them to relax, makes them feel happy and be creative. Actually, it does none of these things. These feelings that smokers attest to are not benefits, merely associations. Smoking does not help you to relax, in fact there is scientific evidence that it does quite the opposite. When you have a cigarette, all that happens is that it satisfies your body's need for nicotine. Smokers may confuse this feeling of relief for relaxation.
If you stopped smoking, you could get this feeling of normality all the time. After you have stopped smoking for a period of time, you will find that all the so-called "benefits" that you gain from smoking - feeling happy, relaxed and creative - are there in equal if not greater measure.
